On monday 15. june 2015 I celebrated my 70 years birthday with friends in my house in Melby, Northsealand, Denmark.

After lunch we decided to take a swim and walk trip to Staengehus Beach at the 7 km. long coastline to Kattegat Sea at Tisvilde Plantation (Tisvilde Hegn between Liseleje and Tisvildeleje).

From Nyvej in Asserbo there are 2 km by walk, bicycle or car to parking area “Staengehus Beach” in Tisvilde Hegn – 400 meter from Kattegat Coastline.

Tisvilde Hegn is a 2045 Ha big area with forest, bogs, lakes, tidal, meadows, dunes, beaches and heather areas. From the Danish Bronze Age from 1500 – 500 B.C. there are 66 burial mounds, scattered all over Tisvilde Hegn:

Tisvilde Hegn is unique in nature and biodiversity. Thats why its a part of Natura 2000 Network. Its a EU wide network of nature protection areas established under 1992  EU Habitat Directive. The aim of the network is to assure the long-term survival of Europe´s most valuable and threaten species and habitats. It also applies to the marine environment. Tisvilde Hegn is one of Denmark´s 252 NATURA 2000 habitat areas protected by 3 danish laws: Miljømålsloven, Skovloven and Naturbeskyttelsesloven and administrated of Naturstyrelsen under Miljøministeriet. All the 252 NATURA 2000 have an area of 8,3 % of danish land area and 17,7 % of the danish sea area.

Her er enestående smukt.

Mølleådalen ligger ca. 1o- 15 km nord for København.

A. Anderson and Jean E. Anderson).

Bike, walk, run, swim and ride in Tisvilde Hegn – part of the danish riviera, North Zealand

april 21, 2009

Tisvilde Hegn, protected as NATURA 2000 Habitat.

Tisvilde Hegn is a unic area alongside Kattegat Sea with forest, dunes and more than 60 monuments from the danish Stone Age  to Vikings Age,  2000 B.C. to 1000 A.C.: burial mounds, barrows and passage graves.

All the area is excellent for bike, run and walk. There are marked paths all over.

There is a 9 km. coastline between Liseleje and Tisvildeleje with 10-15 m high dunes.

The water is clean and the beauty is magnificent. The danish riviera at its best.

Thank you to Skov- og Naturstyrelsen, The Danish Ministery of Environment for use of Map from folder: Tisvilde hegn, Vandreture nr. 1.

Tisvilde hegn is a part of european network called NATURA 2000, protected of EU- Law ( Directives for birds and Habitats ).

Wellcome to my blog.

The surroundings of Copenhagen are very unic. In the weeks to come I will show you 7 beautiful sceneries within 25 km from Copenhagen Townhall Place.

You will find lakes, rivers and forests with paths for bike, walk and run.

You can get there by train, bus, bike and car. This is for all age. You can go there alone or with friends  and  relatives.

This is for your inspiration as visitors to Denmark. All this places can be difficult to find, but in the weeks to come I will show you maps and how to get there.
